NURSE PRACTITIONER

John Mrachina

MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC
Family & Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

John Mrachina is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of diverse experience across critical care, outpatient medicine, and mental health.

He began his career as a Registered Nurse on a cardiac step-down unit, quickly advancing to work in the intensive care units at St. John Providence. Over the next 11 years, John served in multiple ICU roles within the Ascension St. John Health System, developing advanced clinical skills and a deep understanding of complex patient care.

In 2015, driven by a desire to help patients outside of hospital walls, John earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and became board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He transitioned into outpatient care, providing primary and preventive services to individuals and families.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, John answered the call to return to frontline ICU care, serving at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and later in Tampa and El Paso. Witnessing the growing mental health crisis during this time deeply impacted him and inspired his next professional chapter.

John pursued additional training at Saginaw Valley State University, earning his certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Today, he integrates his medical and mental health expertise to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients seeking support for a wide range of emotional and psychological needs.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Jillian Price

MSN, APRN, AGNP-C, PMHNP-BC
Double Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner in Adult-Gerontology and Psychiatric Mental Health

Jillian is a highly skilled and compassionate nurse practitioner, dual board-certified in Adult-Gerontology and Psychiatric Mental Health. With a strong foundation in acute and complex care, Jillian began her nursing career in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Her clinical experience spans a wide range of specialties—including sub-acute rehabilitation, internal medicine, cosmetic surgery, and regenerative medicine—giving her a comprehensive view of health and healing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2018 and later pursued additional certification in psychiatric mental health to better serve individuals facing emotional and mental health challenges.

Driven by a deep commitment to caring for underserved and vulnerable populations, Jillian has since worked in both community mental health and outpatient settings. She is known for her empathetic, collaborative approach, working closely with each patient to develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that promote long-term wellness.

Jillian’s passion lies in helping people feel seen, heard, and supported—wherever they are in their mental health journey.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Jacob Newell

MSN, PMHNP-BC

Jacob is a compassionate and dedicated psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who believes that effective mental health care starts with truly understanding the individual. At Healing Mental Health, Jacob provides personalized, evidence-based treatment designed to meet patients where they are and support meaningful, lasting change.

Jacob began his healthcare career as a registered nurse in the operating room at Corewell Health Royal Oak, where he cared for patients across the lifespan—from newborns to older adults—with a special focus on pediatric care. This diverse clinical background shaped his ability to remain calm, attentive, and supportive during high-stress and vulnerable moments.

Driven by a desire to better serve the mental health needs of his community, Jacob earned his Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health. He integrates thoughtful medication management, therapeutic support, and holistic strategies to help patients achieve emotional balance, resilience, and improved quality of life.

Jacob understands that reaching out for mental health care can feel overwhelming. His goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their healing journey.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Khaled Awwad

MSN, PMHNP-BC

Khaled Awwad is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a broad clinical background in hospital-based care, leadership, and psychiatric nursing.

He began working in the hospital setting at the age of 18, starting in patient transport and progressing through roles in telemetry, patient care technician, registered nurse, and charge nurse. This stepwise progression provided him with a comprehensive understanding of patient care across acuity levels and a strong foundation in leadership and clinical decision-making.

Driven by a strong passion for healing both the mind and body, Khaled earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and achieved board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Khaled provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adolescents and adults. He values a collaborative approach to care, emphasizing attentive listening and working closely with patients to support meaningful improvement and day-to-day functioning. He is also committed to serving underprivileged and underserved populations who face barriers to mental health care.
