NURSE PRACTITIONER

John Mrachina

MSN, PMHNP-C, FNP-C

John began his health care career as a registered nurse on a cardiac step-down unit. He quickly learned the practice and wanted to expand his knowledge and skills. John started working in the intensive care units at St John Providence.

For the next 11 years, he worked throughout all the intensive care units within the Ascension St John Health Care System. In 2015, John decided he wanted to help patients in the outpatient setting, so he went to school at Walden University for his Master’s in Nursing Science with a certification in Family Nurse Practitioner.

John graduated in 2018 and quickly started treating patients in the outpatient setting. When Covid happened in 2020, he felt the need to go back to the ICU setting and help in the fight. John worked at Bellevue Hospital in New York City during the height of Covid. He then traveled to Tampa and then El Paso to help care for these critically ill patients. It was during Covid, where he realized the great need for mental health care and how the country is in a shortage of providers. John once again wanted to help in a way that was new to him. This is when he decided to go back to school, where he attended Saginaw Valley State University for his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification. He quickly learned the practice and was excited to be helping his patient’s mental health.

John now wants to dedicate all his education, knowledge, skills, and experiences to improve the quality of mental health for his patients and the community.
